We love cheese cakes, brownie bars, and even lemon a delicious lemon bar. Typically crusts are full of sugar and carbs...our simple solution was to sub out all purpose flour for almond flour!
Ingredients 2 c almond flour
1/4 c butter(+/-)
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp xylitol (or 1:1 sweetener)
1 tbsp ground golden flax seed
Mix almond flour, salt, golden flax, and xylitol in separate bowl.
Slowly add butter to almond flour mixture until it becomes crumbly, be sure to not add too much butter so that it is sticky and wet.
Our tip to creating a firm packed crust is to cut a piece of wax paper to the size of the baking pan and pull out a smooth bottom drinking glass. Add all your almond flour mixture to the pan and level out the crumbs, place your wax paper on top of the crumb, and tamp with your drinking glass.
Bake at 350 for approx. 12 minutes to get the crust golden brown.
Fill with a delicious cheesecake batter, lemon bar batter, or get creative!
