Cilantro Lime Shrimp

The goal with my recipes is for them to be so simple to follow that you never have to look up the recipe again! The secret to cooking is really just simple fresh ingredients, as well as trusting your gut when it comes to knowing the flavors that you love!

The perfect example of this is my grilled garlic cilantro shrimp. This meal is not only easy to pair with any other light summer foods, but it takes no time to cook. It’s also a great way to get familiar with your grill, since shrimp doesn’t require a lot of time and attention like other darker denser meats.


Ingredients:

1 lb of deveined shrimp

2 tbsp olive oil

5 cloves of garlic minced

½ c chopped cilantro

1 tbsp lime juice

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper


Meal prep:

For best flavor, marinate shrimp overnight in the oil, juices, herbs, and garlic.


Directions for cooking:

1)Soak your wooden skewers in water for 5 minutes to ensure that they do not cook on the grill.

2)Preheat your BBQ to 400 degrees.

3)If not already made into marinade, mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic, cilantro, salt and pepper together in an appropriate size bowl. Add shrimp, toss to coat, and set aside.

4)Let your wooden skewer dry off slightly, add your shrimp to the skewer so that they will lay flat on the BBQ.

5)BBQ on each side for 5 minutes, turning half way through for thorough cooking.
